Prof. Claude Gros receives the “Chercheur Confirmé” Award of the Division of Coordination Chemistry from the French Chemical Society

The “Chercheur Confirmé” Award of the Coordination Chemistry Division (DCC) of the Société Chimique de France (SCF) recognizes a researcher’s career-long contributions to coordination chemistry. This year, the award was presented to Prof. Claude P. Gros of ICMUB (CNRS UMR 6302) in recognition of his research on the synthesis and reactivity of corroles, porphyrins and other macrocyclic derivatives, as well as their metal complexes.

Author or co-author of more than 180 publications, Claude Gros has developed numerous international collaborations throughout his career, notably with researchers in the United States, China and Norway. He has also been actively involved in chemistry education, as demonstrated by the eight textbooks he has authored.

In nearly 50 years, this is only the third time that the DCC has awarded this distinction to a researcher from Université Bourgogne Europe, highlighting the quality and dynamism of the research conducted at ICMUB.
