Projets

Recherche fondamentale

Depuis 2012, au sein du laboratoire Le2i (université de Bourgogne), puis ImVia (Uinversité de Bourgogne) et ICMUB (UMR CNRS 6302), j’ai développé le thématique de la réalité augmentée appliquée à la navigation chirurgicale dans l’oreille.

Sur ce thématique, entre 2020 et 2024, 3 étudiants en master (Ali Taleb, Kuansaa Alzein, Mohoamed-Aimen Boulala) et 3 étudiants en thèse de science (Raabid Hussein, Ali Taleb, Caroline Guigou) ont terminé leurs projets sous ma direction et la co-direction du Dr. Alain Lalande.

En collaboration avec le laboratoire ImVia, nous avons également développé le thématique de l’analyse du signal de tympanométrie 3D pour le diagnostic des maladies de l’oreille moyenne et l’hypertension intracrânienne. Sur ce sujet, j’ai encadré les travaux M. Leixin Nie dans le cadre de sa thèse de sciences en cotutelle avec l’université de sciences de Pékin. Ce projet se poursuit par étudiant un master (M. Mohammad Ummer) au sein du laboratoire actuellement.

Recherche clinique

Pendant la période 2020-2024 j’ai encadré les travaux de thèse de 12 internes en médecine (liste dans annexe 3).

Au cours de ces encadrements, plusieurs travaux cliniques originaux ont été développés dans le domaine de l’otologie, audiologie et neurotologie. Parmi ces travaux, on peut citer la validation d’un test de stéréo-audiométrie dynamique (collaboration avec la société Amplifon) et la mise au point et évaluation d’un système de réglage de l’implant cochléaire basée sur l’algorithme évolutionnaire (collaboration avec la société Medel) et les évaluations des pratiques professionnelles (chirurgie du sac endolymphatique, comblement mastoïdien dans les otites chroniques, tympanoplasties avec ouverture du labyrinthe).

Nous avons également développé un simulateur en réalité mixte pour l’entraînement des cliniciens à l’examen des patients vertigineux en collaboration avec l’institut image (ENSAM, Chalon-sur-Saône). Ce travail a fait l’objet d’un projet de master 2 en sciences d’ingénier que j’ai coencadré avec le Pr. Frédéric Merienne (Institut Image, ENSAM, Chalon-sur-Saone) pour le développement d’un premier prototype. Le projet a été mené par M. Mathis Chartier. Au cours d’un travail de thèse, ce système a été validé auprès d’un échantillon de médecin en formation et d’ORL expert puis déployé au département d’urgence du CHU de Dijon pour la formation des médecins urgentistes au cours d’un deuxième projet de thèse. Ces travaux ont fait l’objet de plusieurs publications. Le système baptisé VertImage a obtenu le prix spécial au World Congress of Audiology en 2024. Il a été utilisé à plusieurs reprises aux ateliers de formation de la SFORL et sera de nouveau déployé à l’Otoforum 2025 à Clermont-Ferrand et à la SFORL en 2025.

• Organisation des cours annuels de dissection et de chirurgie du rocher à destination des internes de la région et des médecins diplômés en ORL depuis 2012 au département d’anatomie de la faculté de médecine de Dijon. Les cours ont été interrompus en 2020 et 2021 (pandémie Covid) et repris à partir de 2022. Nous avons augmenté la fréquence des cours à 2 fois / an. La société ORL de Bourgogne dont je suis le président a participé à l’équipement du département d’anatomie depuis un an par l’achat d’un microscope et des accessoires ainsi que 2 postes de simulation de dissection des rochers.
• Depuis 2015 nous travaillons sur le développement d’un simulateur pour l’examen des patients vertigineux en collaboration avec l’institut Image (ENSAM, Chalon-sur-Saône) : Vertimage. Ce système est totalement fonctionnel et validé depuis 4 ans et régulièrement utilisé lors des ateliers de simulation nationaux (SFORL 2023, Otoforum 2025) les DU (DU de Vertiges, Université Paris 5) et a obtenu le prix spécial au congrès mondial d’Audiologie (WCA) en 2024. Son déploiement aux urgences du CHU de Dijon pour la formation des médecins urgentistes a rencontré un succès considérable et le suivi longitudinal des apprenants a montré une excellente rétention des acquis. Ce simulateur a fait l’objet de plusieurs publications.
