Jean-Cyrille Hierso Honoured by the French Academy of Sciences

Jean-Cyrille Hierso, Professor at Université Bourgogne Europe, Director of the Institute of Molecular Chemistry of the University of Burgundy (ICMUB), and a member of the Institut Universitaire de France, has received the 2026 MINAFIN Prize from the French Academy of Sciences in recognition of his work in sustainable organic chemistry.

His research lies at the interface of ligand chemistry, catalysis and nanoscience. It aims, in particular, to improve our understanding and control of the molecular interactions governing metal reactivity, with the goal of designing new catalysts and functional materials that contribute to the development of more sustainable and environmentally friendly chemistry. His work on organometallic functionalisation and hydrogen storage also addresses key challenges in the energy transition. This distinction highlights the significance of his research in advancing innovative solutions for more sustainable chemistry.

The Institute congratulates Jean-Cyrille Hierso on this recognition.
