I am involved in 23 patents in the area of tetraazamacrocycle chemistry, coordination chemistry, and materials.

1) Decontamination of liquid wastes containing uranium, plutonium, and americium.

The goal of our research program was to develop sequestrating agents that selectively coordinate uranium, plutonium, and americium to achieve the ultimate decontamination of liquid wastes. The process is described in three patents, particularly in WO 2008/0099114, 14/01/2008. Based on the laboratory’s data, we have constructed a semi-plant to treat larger volumes of liquid waste. We have also assembled a Mobile Process Unit, which can treat 500 m3 of wastewater. Such Mobil Process can also be used to sequestrate heavy metals, i.e., Cd, Pb, Hg… resulting from accidental pollution.

2) A process to remove lead from drinking water.

Functionalized materials (silical gels, polymer fibers) implemented in a solid-liquid system. The extraction process makes it possible to remove lead from drinking water (Patents WO 01/46202,

12-12-2000 and WO 2009/112736, 20-02-2009).

3) Carbon monoxide sensor.

To elaborate on a CO sensor, we have chosen a molecular approach using cobalt(III) corroles that selectively bind CO over O2, making them a sensing device for CO detection (Patent WO 03/011865, 19-07-2002).

4) Involvement in innovative companies.

I am a co-founder of CheMatech, founded in 2005 and built on the know-how of LIMSAG-UMR CNRS 5633. This company specializes in the design and synthesis of macrocyclic polyamines, such as DOTA derivatives used for medical imaging (Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT). CheMatech was built on the knowledge our research group has acquired in macrocyclic polyamine chemistry over 15 years. http://www.chematech-mdt.com

I was appointed President of the LARS Advisory Board for the period 2012-2021. This company fabricates artificial ligaments, non-active surgical implants used to compensate for the loss of natural ligaments or as reinforcement. http://www.lars-ligaments.com/about-us/

I am a co-founder, consultant, and President of the Scientific Advisory Board of PorphyChem, which was created in 2013 and built on the know-how of LIMSAG-UMR CNRS 5633, then ICMUB-UMR CNRS 6302.
